Scott's Favorite Rub [Recipe]


This is a great all-purpose rub. It works very well on both meat and poultry. If you apply it on meat for several hours, or overnight, the salt will make it act like a brine that will draw out moisture.  This will create a nice crust on the grill.  Otherwise, rub it on and place your meat or poultry right on the grill. 

Ingredients

cup kosher salt
cup (packed) brown sugar
cup paprika
tablespoon ground black pepper
tablespoon garlic powder
tablespoon dried onion flakes
teaspoon cayenne pepper
teaspoon celery seed

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and whisk to mix
  2. Transfer to a jar, cover, and store in a cool dry place
The rub will keep for several months
